Sixty Forty is the first full band effort from bay area slop-pop outfit Paint the Trees White. The group is led by wily word wizard Josh Permenter, whose winding lyrical musings blend with twisting guitar phrases to create an inventive take on American rock n' roll. Syam Zapalowski (Blood Sister, Young Moon) and Mark Ashworth (Muralismo) provide a strong driving foundation, while Sean Mabry (Maus Haus) and Taylor Jacobs (also of Muralismo) add colorful piano and guitar flourishes that make Sixty Forty a powerful departure from Mr. Permenter's first home-recorded outing. Recorded in Oakland by Paul Korte, this self-released EP is out now on 100 limited edition green cassettes.
